Dubai-Delhi Do or Die Golf Face Off - November 2009

Just when you thought it couldn't get any fiercer, the competitive spirit between Dubai and Delhi Doscos has reached boiling point!
The Desert Dwellers and Mughal Mavens have decided to face-off in that time tested tradition of all out danger and risky blood-and-guts gauntlet throwing - golf! Best bring health insurance!
If you're man enough to face up to the challenge from the high-handed Delhi batallion, send in your names and handicaps to Bipin Bhatia at bbhatia@enoc.com. Do Dubai Doscos proud!
Tentative dates are November 20th and 21st. The boys are looking to make the fixture an annual event so let's make it a success.
Here's the official mail from Bipin:
'During the last visit of the DSOBS delegation from India, it was proposed to introduce a Dubai Vs Delhi golf tournament that will be held each year and will alternate between the two locations. To kick off, it has been agreed that the first tournament will be held in Dubai and the tentative dates are November 20th and 21st , as the tournament will be played over two rounds of Golf.'
Does anyone want to sponsor the trophy and tie-in some corporate goodwill? Come on. Extra bulls and bun tikkis for you.

Dosco Get Together-22nd May, 2009 - Dhow Cruise
A Dhow, some Doscos and speed boats of Johnny

A good gathering of ex-Doscos, wives and families made it to the last scheduled meet of the Dubai Old Boys Chapter aboard a dhow on the Bur Dubai side of the creek on Friday, 22nd May 2009. We were also joined by members of the DSOBS - Vipin Malhotra, Gautam Thapar and KK Lahiri, President, Member Board of Governors and VP of the DSOBS respectively who had come along to present statistics and photographs of the school. Aside from an insightful talk, we were also treated to an audio, visual and oratory refresher on what School has achieved in the last ten years and what it aims to achieve in the years to come. Jayant Hari Har Lal was also on board representing the Executive Committee of the DSOBS proclaiming in his moment at the podium 'The bar is now open!'
As a welcome change, the gathering was held so boys could reconnect and not necessarily be asked for funds. The members of the DSOBS invited the gathering to The Doon School's 75th birthday in October 2010. With 4000 people expected, its going to be a large task and suggestions from all quarters have been requested. Please get in touch with KK Lahiri or others with suggestions.
On another note, the Dubai Doon Chapter's controls have been passed to Bipin Bhatia, who takes over from Rajiv Lal. A thank you to Bipin and Sonali for organising everything and persisting with so many emails and phonecalls, and to all the doscos (and wives) who turned up to the event.
Highlights
Old Boys were asked to send in suggestions for how to organise logistics for Doon's 75 year anniversary. Transport, accommodation and events are all open to suggestion.
Bipin suggested we start a site so Dubai Doscos can interact more. We need suggestions for events and gatherings in the future. This will be the forum for doing so. Photographs and gathering details will all be found here. So keep coming back.
Inebriants had to be ferried a bottle at a time, James Bond style by speedboat to the dhow in mid stream as Doscos seemed thirstier than usual this summer evening.
OPTIONS FOR NEXT GATHERING IN SEPTEMBER
Some suggestions
1. Cricket
2. Karting
3. Paint Ball
Obviously followed by drinks and dinner
